Fronted by the percussionist claudio kron do BRAZIL PapaJaca is an uplifting Brazilian band who use world music influences to create an intricate musical journey. Bass - Kenneth Higgins, Guitar - Craig Scott, Drum Kit - Rick Weedon.
The band mixes Afro Brazilian traditional music with lots of other rhythms creating an interesting fusion of powerful vibrant sounds. The repertoire is usually in Portuguese with Yoruba and Capoeira elements.

Brazilian Culture

Enrico Marchesi
Italian born trumpet player Enrico Marchesi is now based in Leeds and has worked together with Claudio kron for many years. As a performer or a workshop leader Enrico is a powerful trumpeter who in August 2015 made a contribution to Claudio kron's new album adding trumpet to the sounds in BRAZINDIAS. Unfortunately Enrico suffered a stroke a few years ago. The stroke nearly stopped Enrico's career, but once again music had the power to heal. Since his stroke Enrico has created the Stroke of Genius Big Band who performs up and down the country in aid of charity. Well done Macho.
Cuba in Brazil
Born in Havana, Cuba, Omar Puente is a talented violin player who has been based in the UK since 1997. Omar has performed and recorded with many artists such as Jools Holland, Courtney Pine, Robert Mitchel to name but a few.. He is a music teacher at Trinity Music College, London. The first time I performed with Omar was in 1999 then 16 years on we are collaborating again by recording in each other albums. Omar added violin in two of my tracks: Seu Joao and Aurora. Thank you Mr Cuba!

Clarinet in KD news sound MARACATU track
From Leeds College of Music Andrew Cox played clarinet in the track entitled (KD) The recording adventure was very fun as he recorded from his bed room in Leeds while talking on skype. Andrew has performed with Claudio kron & papaJACA in many different events and formats.
It was a real pleasure to have MOBO nominated artist Leroy Johnson in the studio . Originally from Leeds, but with Jamaican roots Leroy was the musical director of the wonderful Carnival Messiah. He put down some smooth piano, organ and guitar for an amazing new reggae track entitled Jamaicano.
